hey guys maybe you can answer a few questions for me about a case 2670. first one what are the weak points of the tractor? The tractor iam looking at has no pto how hard would it be to put one in the tractor if at all.If i work the tractor with a deep shank ripper what do you the fuel use be an hour just an idea? and just any helping thoughts or advice be great. thanks folks

as to putting a PTO on one it will be a job as the PTO clutch is in the tranny so the best way would be to have a donor tractor with pto I have not pulled a ripper with any of mine but working one plowing mine will run 10-12 hrs on a tank full one thing I like to do when checking one over to buy is to pull the drain plug on the rear axle pumpkin for a second to see if any metal is present and color of oil as if this oil is not maintained/ servised and if the tractor is not weighted correctly ( this is really important on 3-pt tractors) they have enough power to put more load/traction to the rear end causing components to wear, also look for leaks in the wheel drive axle areas as these are $$ to have some one repair and if you do your own work it is still a job but very do able, the power shift is also a high dollar repair item and on these tractors it is easy for them to be run/abused to the point repairs are needed any where from 2500-6000 hrs if you are not familiar with how they are supposed to act it would be wise to have/find some one who is to check it out for you prior to purchase, that said I have two 2670's right now and I do like them they are a good work horse and cheap horsepower sorry for the long post cnt

thank you very much. Ok also the tractor i was told had a cab fire. the windows are gone. and the inside is rough shape. i know the serial number is on that side panel is there any other way to date the tractor? also are the cab kits even something i can get. sorry i keep asking questions iam 23 and very intrested in this era of 60's and 70's tractors. its what i have grown around

no problem on the ??? yes cab kits are available but I would suggest you look in a salvage yard for a complete cab pod as they are changed easier than rebuilding the one you have, as to dating the tractor with out a serial # if the cab has two doors it is a 74-78 one door 79 model, there is two different types of rear remotes that will narrow the first production a little more also earlier tractors have a different aftercooler housing if you can get a pic or two of these we can help narrow it a little more cnt
