Hi y"all I have a case 351 wfe that was left to me some time ago. The tractor hasn"t been run in about ten years but has been stored inside I just towed it to the shop today to start a restoration and DuPont rebuild. The tin work is in rough shape and the grill and side panels are missing comPleatly. I was wondering if anyone knows where I might find used or aftermarket tin work. I heard through the grape vine that someone had started making the front grill aftermarket Also I was wondering if any one could shed some light how rare the tractor may or may not be. I know there were not a lot of 351 s made to begin with. But this one dose not have the typical case o matic transmIssiin but just the straight 4 speed Trans. I have heard all different scenarios from all 351s being that way to it being very rare. Also looking for a good used coe reman crank for a 3010 diesel Deere. Thanks y"all Joel

Never seen a COM 351. To my knowledge they came in the small 400 and 600 the earliest. Most 350s had the 12 speed so a plain 4 speed would be out of the ordinary. I have heard of some unusual stuff people on this forum say that they have seen so it's hard to tell. Good luck getting it in shape. mEl

Thad at Ruscha may have parts or know where to look ,,.. Mite try J saelie for parts availability and Restoration Remanufacture parts // the 350 is a low production breed ,so you may have to get inventive for the grill and sheet metal componets

Most of the tin on the 350 is consistent with the 300 Roundnose tractors. Several salvage vendors that frequent this site should be able help you with used tin. One difference between most of the 300s and 350s is the fenders. Because of the 36" rubber, the fenders on a 351 are the same as those on the later model 511B/611B and 630s. In many respects the 350 was essentially a 500B with the 300 Roundnose tin. The differences in the Engine, drivetrain and chassis between a 350 and 500B are negligible.

Roger Hornbaker 301-223-9005 makes reproduction grill inserts and side engine covers. The grills are reproduced by Ted Johnson 952-937-9264.

There were a total of 905 351s made (all in 1957). If it were a John Deere or Farmall, that might qualify it as rare, but low production Case tractors of this vintage don't seem to fetch big premiums.

The Case-o-matic clutch was introduced in 1958 with the introduction of the 400B, 600B and 800. No 350s were equipped with a COM clutch that I am aware of.... mEl has a good point. Never say never with this tractors from that era, but Case made a big splash with the introduction of the COM in the 1958 models, so I would be very surprised if they sent any 1957 350s out the door with a COM...

Hey y'all thanks for the input. My knowledge on case tractors
is fairly limited. New generation Deere is more my forte but this
one was left to me by a dear friend so the restoration is a long
over due promise. I did not realize there was a difference
between the cOm and the twelve speed. So I am still a little
unclear As to what the sufferance between the 350 and the
351 thanks again guys for the insight and I will be in touch
with those contacts for tin work. Fortunately the fenders are in
good shape. If anyone is looking for a set tho there is a set on
eBay currently. They are listed under a set of rear wheels for a
351. Joel

Some of the Case naming conventions were interesting during the late 1950. They had two distinctly different series of 400, 500 and 600 tractors all within a few years. The 300s had a number of variants with different model numbers to distinguish the differences. All of the following were considered "300s":

300 - Standard/utility diesel
301 - Row-Crop diesel
302 - High-Crop diesel
310 - Standard/utility spark ignition
311 - Row-Crop spark ignition
312 - High-Crop spark ignition

When the 350 series was launched in 1957, Case made two variants:

350 - Standard/utility spark ignition
351 - Row-Crop spark ignition

The 351 had 36" rear tires, and came with a single front, a dual front or an adjustable front axle. The rear axle was adjustable and had a clamp-on hub.

The 350 had 28" rear tires, a solid front (non adjustable) axle. The rear axles were flanged and therefore non-adjustable.

The two 350 variants shared the same engine, drivetrain, and cosmetic parts other than those that needed to be different to support the different axles (i.e. fenders, power steering systems, vertical lift links for the eagle hitch, ground speed decals, etc). There were a total of 905 351s and 199 350s made during the one year production run.

Think the guys have covered everything for you. The twelve speed transmission has a high-low-and direct. You may have only a 4 speed as I have heard there were utility models shipped that way. the 350 series also have about 42hp versus 34.6 in the 300 series. Good luck on the restore and the guys here are great about answering question.

Thanks y'all for all your input you have cleared up a lot for me. This will be my first cosmetic restoration. This tractor belonged to my father and grandfathers hired man eli when I was a kid. He kinda served as a second grandfather to me, he left the tractor to me when he passed in 1997. The poor tractor had a rough life. Eli worked for the farmer who bought it new. Unfortunately when the cows left the tractor was pushed over a bank and buried along with a side console 4020 and many other tractors. Some years later Eli pulled the tractor out and spent the last years of his life putting back in tunable condition but she is rough now. So this is hopefully gonna be the year that I finish it. (along with my growing list of Deeres that need to be ready for spring ) thanks again guys. JOel

I was looking at the listings and noticed there was no mention of a lp or propane option for a 351. Is that a rare option/model?

My 351 also is just a 4 speed. I was wondering how many of the plain 4 speeds they actually built if anyone knows. Almost done making it pretty, just waiting for the "351" decals from local shop

My 351 is also a 4 speed, curious how many they made of straight 4 speed. Getting done with restoration, waiting for "351" decals from local shop. My first Case so i dont know much about them

What should also be mentioned is that engine has no sleeves. I think it was a cheap way to get more cubic inches. If your engine is trashed, it would be expensive or maybe impossible to overhaul.....I am not 100% on that. Others on this site would know.

Wow! what little i know here. There was a couple sizes of gas engines far as displacement not sure about modern rebuild kits. The diesel was a Continental or some such not a Case made. Joe did a good job of covering the models.
Yes sheet metal is a tough area for that series.
