Case 400 & Case 'B' Plow

A fun, successful day of plowing yesterday, 11-8-25.
The 3-14 Case Centennial Model "B" plow did amazingly well today. I've had it for a year and a half, this was the first time I've put it in the ground. The 69-year-old tractor is always up to any job.
Didn't get a lot of photos or videos as I had my hands full with hard pulling hay ground. Polished her up pretty good, too.

That northern Illinois black soil is sure pretty and makes a great contrast with the Desert and Flambeau. Looks like the 400 handled the plow with ease in 3rd.
Two-tenths of rain the night before, an 11-year-old hay field, greasy traction, 2nd gear was all the 400 wanted.
Been a long time since I ran a 400 but I believe that gear shifter is in 2nd.
Yes, 2nd gear

All I can claim is dyslexia. Seriously, I began driving a 400 diesel at 12 years old and using a 4 bottom mounted plow. Seems like I used 3rd and 4th gears trying to plow as deep as I could. Where I live now, there is some dark soil that we call gumbo. When one hits it going across a field, it will make a tractor drop rpm's and snort.
