I went to look at a mid 50's CASE 410 this evening. It's a good runner, tin's fairly rough but all there and the rubber has some weather checking but should be solid for a few more years.
The current owner had purchased it several years ago with an eye to restoring it, he's done the some work (starter and ignition, some electrical, some other work) but he's decided to move on to different projects.
I'm interested in the tractor but one thing that is concerning me is the transmission. Current owner says it's missing a spring in the shifter housing causing not to engage solidly and possibly pop out of gear in high range. He says it's a fairly easy fix.
Is it an easy fix or could it be something deeper in the transmission?
