I know the book calls for TCH oil for the hyddraulic system. Qusetion is: Is there another oil on the market that is acceptable such as the oil Tractor Supply sells or Advance Auto's Coastal oil. Also what weight should the hydraulic oil be? Thanks, Keith

I have been using WalMart oil, that is in a 2 gal. blue container, for about 6 years in my Case 480D. Has worked great for me.

any hydraulic oil will work in the hydraulic system but i would only use tch in the torque conveter we run hytran in the in ours but thats because we buy it in 55 gal drums

At my place we have been using Shell oils and greases for over fifty years, above is a scan of the page for the 580K.

Thanks for the info guys. This backhoe belongs to my neighbor. I told him that I've used the TSC Hytrans oil in my old 580B ever since I've owned it, but he was a little scepticle of using it in his 580K. Keith
