case 600 axle broke

I want to say the early 900,s should be the same. Sprockets are the same and outside nut is the same. The A9915 subbed to a A20317 which dealer says subs back to the A9915. Axle on 900 was A1131 which he said subbed but didn't show the sub number. Said see sub book which tells me it subs but may need additional parts for it to work. Last list was over 1500.00. Difference may be keyway.

The 500, 600, 900, 930's all had a history of broken axles. At one time our dealer had about 50 axles all lined up that broke. They all looked alike.. What happened was they crystalized all that broke jagged was about a half in. when the axle couldn't hold up. Our dealer made a bolt on axle with a truck tire. he would lock the brake on the broken axle and then drive the tractor onto his truck to take it to town to fix it.

Thanks for the info. Isure hope i can find one cheaper than 1500 thats crazy thats more than the tractor is worth.

One of Dad's 930s broke an axle plowing in the early 1970s. Within a few weeks after getting it repaired and delivered back home from the dealer, the other side broke.... At least the fenders matched after the second one let loose.
