Does anyone know how hard these tractors steer with a full bucket? wondering if i should look for a 648 instead? thanks Reno J.

There's a big difference between the 648 and the other two older models when it comes to ease of steering. But if you keep the front tire pressure high and counterweight the back end properly, the 644 and 646's aren't too bad. If you buy either one, your first job is to change all the fluids. Use 20W50 MOTOR OIL in the hydraulic system, not hydraulic fluid. The second job is to carefully inspect the entire steering system and replace worn tierod/draglink rod ends and adjust the steering gear properly. Make sure the toe in/toe out is correct. Lube all the fittings underneath that every previous owner failed to take care of.

Use straight 30 weight oil in the engine and change it every 25 hours without fail. Never let the oil drop below the ADD line. If you end up with a 648, then clean the hydraulic filter or replace it. Get yourself an Operator's Manual if the tractor does not come with one. Parts Manuals are available free at the Ingersoll website.
