Does anyone have experience in changing a COM to a standard dry clutch type drive? I'm tired of dealing with the problems of this Case-o-Matic.

You would need a dry clutch bell housing, top input shaft and bearing housing to the dual range and all parts in the bell housing including the clutch shaft and coupler, flywheel, pressure plate and lined disc and all the bearings, TO, Pilot, seals ands seal plate and a couple orings.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience with the Case o Matic. That is one of my favorite drive systems and if given reasonable care they are good for many thousands of hours. To this day many have not been split. What type mechanical problems are you having with it. Just curious. Nearly all problems associated with this drive are directly related to wear from an improperly cared for system and the support housing wears from abrasives. They are designed to lube themselves by internal leakage thus the wet bell housing, when leakage gets excessive it shows up as a pressure loss, One downside at this point in time is that repair parts are getting harder to find as OEM has discontinued a lot. mEl

mEL,
Thanks for the reply I'm deciding at this point what to do with it. I had it apart this spring and repaired the unit. The bolts that hold the three dogs(keys)in place that hold the clutches had broken and broke a clutch plate and 2 disks. After month and several hundred $ I got it working much better but it still has little pull in high range and am reluctant to do it again without being sure of what I'm looking for obviously its loosing pressure some where.
