we just bought a case 830(model 831-c ser.#8222684) adj.wide front. 16.9x34 rears 4cyl diesel, eagle hitch. very low hours. clean and straight. the problem is they will not give me the top link. says it fits there new tractor (i offered them a new one form case IH) can any one tell me is this a special top link for the 830s?? and where can we buy a replacement?? or what to do thanks

Met those kinda folks before ,really ought to have all that sorted thru before deal is made ,,, YEAH I know , ME TOO....LOL ...and i feel for you ,,.at least you are offering a trade ,, In all honesty i think any standard top link will work on the 830or 930 with out EAGL hitch ,,If its older style like the 800, STICK to YOUR GUNS

Case Eagle Hitch top links are very short and are different than what is comercialy availible. You can try EBAY, one of the tractor vendors that specialize in old case tractors, or try modifying a comercial one by shortening it, should be about 10" or 11" long.

You must realize the link covered the pto shaft and is different than later case 3 pts.
Make a pattern of the 4 bolts surrounding the pto shaft - built a heavy steel pto shield and put eyes on it top in the center for the turnbuckle. You can then find or build a rather short turncuckle to use to attach to 3 pt equipment.

Dads old 400 has the eagle hitch and because he has a loader with pto pump we just run the 3rd arm off the upper bracket. We only use a 3pt bale fork and 3pt blade, and to make it lift right he added ten inches of plate to the 3pt equipment so the top hole is up higher and then he just uses a universal 3rd arm from a supply store, i think they are around 25 bucks for the lighter ones. Used it for several years and it works fine. If its not a eagle hitch like others said a universal 3rd arm should work fine without modifiying equipment.

You don't have a serious problem. Any standard top link will work, provided you add enough of an extension to the top link connection on your bushog or whatever it is you're working with. Remember that for your top link to keep your equipment level when you pick it up, the top link must be level while the equipment is sitting on the ground. A Case 831C is a taller than average tractor, plus the top link bracket behind the seat is higher than on most tractors. If you attempt to pick up a bushog for example, while using a standard top link, the front of the bushog will come up but not the back, plus the top link will bind against your lift levers, maybe hard enough to prevent them from working. So just have a welder fabricate an extension for you that you can move from one piece of equipment to another. It needs to be able to come forward but not go backward. Make it about 10 inches high. Have the welder cut 3 or 4 corresponding holes in each side so you can pick the one that gives you a level top link when your equipment is sitting on level ground. By the way, I did not like the Eagle Hitch so I took the lower lift arms off and installed regular class II lower links from off of a Ford tractor after adding about 6" to their length. More secure that way I think.
