Case 970 hydraulic/3pth issues

Good day all,
Replaced hydraulic pump and got the RPS34 all loosened up and working - so no shifting/powershifting/clutching issues.

However, the 3pth doesn't move and when I did move the lever the oil foamed up and started dumping out the back. Loader also is only working now when I depress the clutch and power steering affected. Obviously blowing out of a seal internally but where? Loader worked good until I moved the 3pth lever. Now everything discussed happened. What part of the 3pth hydraulic component assembly would cause this issue. Will study the manual but am hoping for the quick answer here. Thoughts? Case farm kid

Everything (loader, PS, steering, remotes) was working OK AFTER changing the pump... and BEFORE moving the 3pt lever? If so, I'd think something in the 3pt valve is stuck and dumping or reliving pressure (creating the foam), but the fact clutching now effects the remotes and steering is also effected is odd... unless the foam is doing it....sounds like some sort of mess I'd find myself in......

Good day,
It was after changing the pump. Transmission pressure is good. Shifts great still. Cleaned the trans level glasses and verified the level was correct. Started it up and functioned the 3pth lever and no action but loader started to work a bit better. Oil was foamed in the transmission... clearly visible in the glass. The remotes seem to be pretty self contained but with 3pth not working my thoughts are there. Engaged the pto as well and worked (no load...). Hope this helps someone guide me. Nothing helpful in the manual. Case farm kid

IF you did not have the foam issue prior to changing the pump, I would pull it again and take special note of the suction side o-ring. The o-ring can be troublesome to get sealed well. They can get cut or smashed during installation and not seat. The pump then sucks air with the oil and creates the foam. Make sure it is not cut or flattened when you inspect it, replace with a new one if so. Grease it, the suction tube, and the casting where it seats real well to help it slide in to place easily. Rock the pump back in gently. The pump should rock in to place and not have to be "pulled in" with the bolts. See if this helps - at least they are easy to work on on these tractors.

What troubles caused you to replace the pump?

Good luck!

Good evening,
Will try to reseat pump... seemed to go in well and lubed o-ring on way in...
I had to much oil in as well but with clean glasses it was easy to see the foaming. Was told pump was bad but may retry original pump later on. Thank you. Case farm kid
