I have an old Case Box Scraper (Model S172) that is missing the shanks. The original part number of the shanks was 1346723C1 but, according to my local Case dealer, they are apparently obsolete.
So I am looking for replacement shanks. Here are the key dimensions of my scraper:
Holes that the shanks slip into: 2-5/8 x 1-13/16
Distance between the top hole and the bottom hole is 4
Distance from the top of the hole to the ground is 15.5
Distance to the ground from the bottom of the hole is 12.
Based upon this I assume I would need about an 18 long shank. One of the concerns I have is that the shanks I have found on the Internet are only 3/4 thick. I don't know how they would operate sitting in the scraper's hole that is 1-3/4 wide.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to which modern-day shanks would fit this scraper? Thanks.
