Case CC motor lift

I am in the reassembly phase on the CC case I am restoring for a friend. While cleaning some parts I noticed that the motor lift had its own place to fill and drain the oil. I also noticed the back plate on the differential has a threaded hole that would let oil into the motor lift housing. Should this hole have a plug in it and the motor lift and differential housings kept separate? There is also no seal between the differential and motor lift housings on the PTO shaft, which makes no sense if these compartment are to be kept separate. This tractor came to the shop with the transmission and the motor lift completely dissembled, and this is the first CC I have been into so I will have to rely on some of the experts here for some help. I have no idea on a CC, but my SC Case had a "pipe thread" hole between the motor lift and tranny, with no pipe plug in it either. I belive some Case tractors did not have the motor, but am not sure why the motor lift has it"s own fill plug?

Sure, try and loure me out into that flat open country! I here you have to tie off to a fence post just to stay in one spot. Then again, we are talking heavy metal. I've been wanting to go over and see the big tractor collection east of you. Can't think of the old boy's name. He has some serious iron! PK
