case davis 430 scat back loader

Hello, I just saw listed for sale a scat back 430 loader...........and it looks neat......any Idea of weight it will lift or how high, and if the thing can be kept running............the storys were that no parts exist.......it looked useful and I would like your thoughts and experiences with them. thanks

I will have to dig my ops out tonight on mine, great little loaders and will do things a skid loader will do and better like not tearing up the ground when turning, mine has the air-cooled Wisconsin engine and hydraulic parts are available some things like cutting edge was not but I put one off a a Bobcat on mine with a small modifcation, weight is about 3800lbs cnt

They were a decent machine for a landscaper, or nurseryman, but were too slow and akward in a freestall barn. They had a two speed hydrostat, slow and slower. They also had a chain drive from the transfer box to the hydro unit, which wore rapidly. They could also give you a false sence of stability. Lifted well straight on, but when you turned it, the rear half would lift off the ground. It was much lighter than todays compact articulators, such as the Kubota 400 series, or what ever the model is now.

I have had one for 30+ yrs--one helluva machine--fast --doesn,t tear up the grass--wish I had all the money I made with it--has some limitations--most parts are generic if you look hard enough

Mine is 50 years old this year and still going strong. I'm slowly giving it a complete overhaul. I started a Facebook page and I will be listing all the compatible parts I am finding.
