case dc wheel clamp

In the picture, you can see where the center cast axle clamp bolt holes have worn thin. do I need to sleeve, or try repair the thin spots, or just use as is?? thanks Jim

Its possible, I looked at the left side casting and it did not have the thin, worn areas in the bolt holes, so that what confused me a bit. thanks Jim
 
There is quite a bit of "meat" above where it fits on the axle so I would not worry too much. After all, it has held together for over 50 years so it's unlikely it would break anytime soon under normal use.
 
Torque 'em down good with new #8 bolts and watch very closely for movement. That's the only way you can be sure.
