Case Nutty 1660 had answered some questions I had about our 960 and corn header and asked for some pictures, so here they are. I can post some more pictures if you guys like. Some background info: My family sold Case equipment starting in 1927 until 1978. My grandfather pasted away at a young age when my father was a little kid so he never got to take over the dealership or the farm, but later my father started collecting Case tractors/equipment. My brothers and I (my brothers are in college and I'm in high school) started collecting Case stuff too and just this year started farming part of our family farm and are tring to use older, mostly Case equipment, most of which my grandfather sold new back in the day. Pictures: 1. restored DC and VAC 2. 970 side dressing corn (my grandfather used this 970 to farm with, later sold it to a customer) 3.400 and 630 with case plows getting ready(at the time the hydraulics on the 630 didn't work, thats why its hooked up to the 2 bottom 4. 960 combining wheat for a neighbor 2 years ago 5. 400 with wagon, I hope this is not long and boring for you guys I just wanted to share

Drew, I would like to know the yr. of your VAC. We just bought one with the same " chicken roost" steering set up. Ours is a 1942 model.Dad bought a new VAC in 1943, I think. It was the same type steering as yours. I would like to know what years that steering system was used on them. Thanks , clint

They had a dealership at our farm in Stony Ridge Ohio, one in Gibsonburg and Genoa Ohio, the name was Henry Brothers. Then in 1969 then changed the name to Henry Equipment Co. and built one larger building and combined the other branches, so they only had one building.

So I come home for lunch and hit the Case site and what do I find? Fantastic pictures with a cool story to boot - keep 'em coming!

Drew,
I,m speaking for most of of my friends here I believe. Your pics. are great, but the most important factor I noticed about your very interesting post and history of your family's relationship with CASE is your age. Many of of us here are in your eyes, "old farts". I am very glad to see someone of your age posting here with great pics. and heritage. Please continue to post pics. and questions, any time you wish. As you see, we here on the CASE forum are looking forward to your continuing participation and an injection of new younger blood.
Thanks Loren.

1031, thanks for the info about the VAC steering.
I do not want to be a pest , but does anyone know how many were made with the " roost" type steering ? Due to the war effort , there probally were not a lot made. I know that dad had his name on the dealers "LIST" for sometime before the VAC came in. clint
