Is there a way to tell what year a starburst grille RC is with out a serial tag?

i have what i believe is a 1938 RC, basing this off of the tag on the engine. i do not have a serial number tag. was told there is no way to find this out as they did not mark it anywhere else on the tractor.the star burst grille first came out in 1939, so yours is a 1939 or later.there is one possible way to find it, if you have a engine tag ,you could go to Racine WI and look thru several thousand build cards.

Serial number should be stamped on the left side of the flywheel housing. - at least the older ones are stamped there.

my RC does not have it stamped on the engine or any
place else. have never seen an RC with it stamped on
it.

Here is where the serial numbers are on a '35.

bell.is it on the bottom.can't see the exact

It is on the left side, just above center. You see the flange where the engine block bolts to the oil pan on the far right of the picture and the clutch cover is in the background. It is the same place you will find the serial numbers on a SC or DC as well. I doubt Rock Island tractors will have the serial number here, but Racine tractors should.
