I believe this is a case S, right? Needs manifold and engine rebuilt since I know its locked up from water. Rears appear to be some type of cutoff welded to the rim, may be wrong though, but it needs new tires anyways. I was told to make an offer on it. Shhetmetal is is good easily repairable condition. Are these fairly common? Parts east to come by for the engine? What should I offer?

I once had case S. Mine had tri-cylcle fronts with long steering link running length of tractor and up high. I also had heavy iron wheels with clamp on rims. Some even have cast iron front wheels. Cases usually have a tag riveted to the dash gauge area. Model and serial on it. None there? With that wide front, I think you have a diff model or variation of S if it is an S. Foor clutch? Mine had hand. maybe this is an Industrial version?

That is definitely a Case S. And the rear tires are mounted on cut off steel which was quite common in the WW2 time period. Engine parts are not too hard to get and these tractors are easy to work on. Its anybody's guess what it might be worth, but it is worth at least $200 for scrap these days. Don

Hello John: That looks like my 1947 Case S serial #5103771S. I just got it in Oct. 2007 on a tractor trade deal. Its my first Case, I'm mainly a Ferguson tractor nut, and all I know about mine is that it needs an engine overhaul and a flywheel ring gear. Its also very heavy for its size and has a hand clutch. Its built like a tank? Maybe a Case tractor trait? I traded about $400 worth in mine then bought a $275 magneto to get it running. Now I have find out what they are worth fixed up. I might want to bail out before I do the engine and flywheel work. Ferguson grey looks better all the time! Good Luck, Mike

Definitely a model "S". probably a 1941 or 1942 judging from the wide fenders. My 1944 has the mid series fenders that are not as wide over the tires. All the parts you need are common with the SC tractors and fairly easy to find. Original air cleaner may be the hardest to find, but later years work fine. All fuel or gasoline manifolds can be used.
I have a picture of mine in the photo archives if you would like to see it. Paid $600.00 for it running, but barely and poor tires.
Good luck with the project... Gene

These old Case tractors really arebuilt like a tank and are heavy as hell, especially the number series. (300, 400, etc.) In my opinion, the Eagle hitch is a considerable improvement ove the Ferguson hitch.

Thanks gentleman! One last question, is this engine sleeved, and if not, could it be if needed. Like I said, I know its locked up from water as the manifold is severly busted, why he has a cup on the pipe Ill never know.

My experience is the $45-65 mags on ebay do not work. I have three and maybe I will be able to construct one that works ;-)

Offered him $400, hes going to let me know tomorrow. Just in "Case", whats a good parts source for these old Cases, mainly used. I have a local source for engine parts. I know Ill need a manifold.
Thanks!
