Does any know where i can get the seal protector tool for the seal behind the brakes on a 580d case backhoe . the part number is g15503 . my dealer says he can't get it . any help would be app.

If anyone is going to have that tool it will be Owatonna Tool Company. They made all the Case Service Tools.

Just wrap some duct tape around the axle stub so that it just leads up to the area where the seal makes contact, lube the taped shaft with some petroleum jelly, carefully slide the brake housing on to the stub using long guide bolts to hold shims etc
When the cover is bolted remove the tape, it will come out from under the seal lip

NO PROBLEM! Just went through that. My friendly case dealer wanted $161.00 but would have to order it. So I made one of my own. Just get a Fabreze air fresheren can size 9.7oz. Make sure you empty the can to get the presure out. Break the plastic pump off the top and put in your chop saw (to thin for a hack saw) and cut bottom off about 5 1/4 inches down from the tapered end at top. Clean up the cut end with file. Now works slick, you'll love it.
PS Don't throw away if your 580D is like mine you'll be in there again. Have fun on the right break.
Good Luck.
