Case580CK three point hitch options?

Hi everyone,

I was daydreaming earlier today and wondered about the possibility of finding a three point hitch to swap onto the back of my 1969 Case 580CK. Possibly even put a PTO on it if a three point hitch is possible. It has the backhoe on it now, and I wouldn't want to lose the option to use it, just think it would be nice to use the 580CK as a "farm tractor" with three point attachments on occasion is all.

I know the 580 was a basic tractor with whatever was needed attached to the front and/or rear so I would assume that my idea isn't too far fetched, but also know I have certainly been wrong before when it came to ideas I came up with.

My machine needs some love, and will slowly get it as I finish my homestead and am able to move onto it, just got to thinking up ways to make it more useful around the property is all. The 580 combined with my Bobcat T190 seem to pretty much handle most everything I need to do for now, but there are certain times when three point attachments would be great to have on hand to use while driving forward.

Just a thought, thanks.

Dug more, and found that a MOD hitch/unit seems to be what I would want. Only trick now is to try and find one.

Anyone know a source?

We pulled the backhoe from our 78 580CK extendahoe and attempted to copy from Deere John 300B and Massey Fergey loader scraper. Immediately ran into problems before first part was drawn, cut, welded and decided 2 tractors with 3point and multiple spoolers for gannon scrapers, posthole digger, trencher, yatta was plenty and better to use the CK as its engineers intended. A base 580 can be ordered with 3 point so it must exist. You could try looking for P.G. Smith in Suisun, California. He has 300 acres of nearly any tracklayer, wheeled and now skid steers in various stages of teardown. Some done very clean, parts labeled etc. Others (laughing), "Get the all purpose oxy/acetylene torch, blaze through tip."

There is also a smaller operation about 12 miles E/NE of Klamath Falls, OR. That one is more into harvesting and packaging ag tractors. The Case is our newest tractor with 'ranch art' units ranging back to steel wheel 1911 Fordson. One thing about the backhoe is how much use you give it. Both boom cylinders, both 4in1 front bucket cylinders and one outrigger have started spewing fluid. I quote here, "If the cylinder is to large/heavy for you to comfortably carry, position and avoid it if/when it slips; take it to a shop." 15 years back I took one about the size of loader bucket lifter and it cost 85usd for the rebuild. It still works but the Massey has decided to remain out standing in its field.

Pic is of the 'prettiest' warbird imho. Aardvark or F111fb swing wing somewhat multi talented at stealth bombing entry runs and fighter bird. Good luck with your 580.

Thanks for the reply, I am definitely getting the impression that I would be better off leaving my machine as a backhoe and giving it the attention it deserves while starting to study and hunt for a decent farm tractor/loader setup for a 3 point on the back already. I'm not quite at that stage of necessity anyway thankfully. What's one more tractor for the collection anyway right!

Thanks again,

Ryan

(quoted from post at 10:23:18 10/11/22) This is the unit your looking for. This one
is not for sale tho.

Thanks,

I have been doing internet searches for these and all I see are a couple pop up that are dated 9 or so years ago being for sale. I'll keep my eyes open though, in a perfect world one would pop up on my radar in Alaska to avoid massive shipping expenses, but I'm not holding my breath too much on that.

Just out of curiosity, what did MOD stand for on this unit?
