Thanks to all for the help. FYI, got the new shaft in and put the gear box and chains and belts on. Then I needed to time the rollers. Book says jump a tooth so I did so on the gearbox. That wasn't easy. I did it. Still no better. Did it again (and again). FINALLY re-read the book and learned I needed to do that on the upper conditioning roller. Dang, when am I gonna learn to read?
Also, had to replace a guard and several sickle sections. Yup, gotta remove a guard to do that, but with the sections centered perfectly I've found it is possible. Not easy, but possible. Thanks for the advice. kelly
