Does the cast iron center drive hub (bolted to the flywheel) fit the A B D G H? or were there different sizes? What is the correct name for this unit?

The hub that is the rachet....on electric starts when you have to use the steering wheel and stub shaft to turn it over...and yes, they are all B 1608 R, Ratchet, Crank.

I knew what you where talking about. Some people are just rude. Yes , the part you are referring to is B-1608R (Crank Ratchet ) does fit A ,B,D , G & H.

Thanks for your help. Machined a socket that a 1/2" ratchet will fit in the (crank ratchet hub)for turning the motor for setting valve lash etc. Made of 4140 steel and nickle plated. Also a great starting socket for the pullers. Will post a picture if any interest.

You can still buy the stub shaft that fits the ratchet hub before electric start, and the version that fits the fully covered flywheels of the late styled era. You can even crank start them using the steering wheel, which is what the stub shaft and ratchet hub were intended for. Always kept a spare one around to use in positioning engines during rebuild and tune up.
