Cat 212 Grader----can another engine be installed??

Anything is possible with enough time and money.
Either the bellhousings have to match or use an adapter plate.
53 and 71 series Detroit Diesels are cheap and reliable.

Be a lot cheaper and easier to fix it rather than adapting another engine to it. Also those old pony starts are neat.

just depends how much adapters and such ya wanna make, my cat #9 grader has a 300 six from a early 80s ford pickup, definatly not a bolt in job, had to make a whole subframe for the motor and stuff

If it's just the Pony motor thats bad, I have heard of guys putting a lawn mower engine on in place of pony. I think Farm Show mag had a piece about changing old Cat's over to electric start. Might want to check that out. If you do switch engines, I would go with diesel instead of gas. Chris
