HI. I have a 1986 D6E With power trouble and no one can help? when i turn to the left its turns perfect, when i turn right it stalls and the whole machine just stops. i put a reconditioned torque converter in last year and i done all the seals and bearings in the backend. can someone help me? i clocked the oil pressure at a valve underneath the seat and it showed 250psi and it should be 315psi? can any CAT experts help.

Your right clutch is not releasing. I hate to say this but it may require puling the transmission not an easy job. You can check the levers under the seat to see if anything came loose first.

What do you mean it stalls on a right turn?? Does the machine quit moving or the engine stalls??..If the machine quits moving on a right turn ,but the engine doesn't die out, the left steering clutch is slipping..Adjust freeplay or repair steering clutch..If the machine's engine stalls , sounds like the steering brake is adjusted too tight , but then again , the torque converter should slip a bit to compensate for the extra load on it..

Oil pressure is supplied by the transmission pump and should be 315 psi minimum w/steering clutches released.
There are test ports for the pump pressure and left & right steering clutches. Check all three.
Possible causes:
1. Linkage adjustment
2. Leakage @ steering clutch pistons seals
3. Valve spool stuck or valve spring weak or broken in the steering clutch control valve.
