A friend gave me 30 gallons of #30 weight hydraulic oil for a Cat tractor that he can't use. Can I use it as a motor oil in my old tractors, or will the additives mess the motor up? Thanks for any thoughts. Mark
 
If the oil is new and in the original containers then I would check the specs as it might be motor oil. The D-7 I have at work calls for 30w motor oil in the motor,the trans,and the hydraulics. If there was any doubts I would not use it. HTH Jf
