i have lots of rabbits and a few quail and plenty of cats. i want to know how to rid my place of these stray cats that stalk my rabbits and the babby quail. not that good of a shot anymore. what can i put in live traps or steel traps? any suggestions are truly welcome.

I trap them in live traps using a small amount of tuna fish. Usually I can bait a trap several times from one can. I then relocate them to a remote area. I get a possum (sp?) now and then, but I like to relocate those also. I keep a shotgun handy, but the wild ones run away too fast for me to get it and get off a shot and I kinda hate to shoot the tamer ones.

Call the humane society and have them catch them
and they will probably put them to sleep. Somone is probably dropping off cats they don't want. We have them living in storm drains from people that move out and don't take their cats.
It wouldn't surprise me to find a new born baby on the front porch. Hal

"I then relocate them to a remote area." Yeh, that really takes care of the problem alright. Like pouring pee outa your left boot into the right boot. Don't really help the overall situation but at least your left boot is dry.

Let the nieghbor kids shoot them just do not trap and relocate I let a few live in the barn for mice controll but if they get to thick I thin them out with a 22 or what ever is handy.

We used to have a problem with stray cats (drop offs that town people dumped in the country) but since the coyotes have moved into the area in the last 20 years no more stray cats. Coyotes are fond of cat. The wildlife control guys say the first sign of coyotes is the disappearance of cats.
