what does concealed carry permits costs in your area? in alabama our county sheriff charges $5.00 for senior citizens and $15.00 for all others. thats per year.

TX:
$140 for 1st 4 yrs then $70 per 5 yrs to renew.
Classes are $70-100
Finger printing 9.95

The bureaucracy of getting all this done takes months.

Indiana is $30.00 State Fee (money order)and $10.00 County Fee (cash only) for a 4 year. Its $75.00 State Fee ( money order) and $50.00 county Fee (cash only) For Lifetime. Lifetime with current permit is $60.00 state fee (money order) and $40.00 County fee (Cash only).

Indiana also has a hunting & target permit which is good to carry to and from hunting area or target range. Its $15.00 total ( 4 year),$ 75.00 total ( Lifetime)and $60.00 total ( Lifetime with current permit.

In Mass, where the world thinks we don't have any, but made most of them, it's $100 every 5 years- so 20 bucks a year. That's for people 21 to 65, then free to 'senior citizens'.
To start, everyone needs to take a one day training and written test, but you need to join a club first, which requires you to join the NRA... So every one in Mass with a pistol permit IS an NRA memember. State law!

In Minnesota it is county by county. I live in wright county and the permit is $100. for five years. The county next to us "Meeker" is $40.
The class is 80.00.

In NJ almost impossible to get a permit unless your connected or celebrity. You have to proof imminent threat to life, and then wait 30days or more to get one.

By the time you take the class, then pay all the other fees and fingerprint charges, probably $200.

But when I am on my farms, it cost nothing, cause no one is gonna stop me.

Tony current holders of ccp do not have to take the course only new or lapsed permit holders and you dont have to join nra. I have my permit 20+ years police never asked if i am nra member. I live in small town in central ma

Arkansas license costs $147.50 for 5 years, renewal is $63 for 5 years thereafter. You have to attend a class with range training for the first license that costs $75~$125 according to where you take it, and a refresher class when you renew that"s usually around $40. Odd thing about Arkansas permits, if you qualify with a revolver, then your permit is restricted to revolvers only. If you qualify with a semi-automatic, then the permit is unrestricted.

When I lived in PA it was $26 for 5 years, needed a check and three character references, in 7 days either have it or an explanation why not.

Nebraska, take a class, and I think the fee is $140-150 for 4 years. But open carry is legal too.

That's why I said 'to start'. I renewed for the 4th time lately myself. Everyone I know went thru the same thing, to test at a club, you got to join the club, to join that you need to join the NRA. After that, yeah it's a choice in life, I am an NRA lifer since '97.
