Census

Got a card from the census bureau to inform me a census form would be coming. A few days later the census form arrived. Got a notice that the census forms had been mailed. Completed and returned the form answering all requested information. Today I received another census form. This is an example of government ineffeciency. Is this what can be expected with government medical care? Lord help us.

Years ago there was a study done that found for every dollar a person got on food stamps it cost the tax payer $5 which is sad because of how the gov is run. But then look at all the rest of it. Every year the president and congress gets a raise but what do the vets get a kick in the teeth and a long line to see a doctor and a 6 month wait for there appointment and doctors that do not care

The funny part is by census rules you are suppose to fill it out on 4/1/2010 yet I recieved a letter already asking why I did not mail it back yet.

Just make sure that when you fill it out when you get to the race question you check other and write in "American". All we have heard from the talking head on tv for the last two years has been that race does not matter.

List one government ran program that works. I don't understand why so many people are easily fooled into thinking that Gov. Health Care would be any different. Plus, with Gov. claiming to be footing the bill (we all know who really pays for it), who's to say they won't start regulating more and more of our daily activities, claiming health relation as a reasoning.

As for the reason for the letter and card in addition to the form, the Census Bureau figured out it is cheaper in the long run to make the extra mailings, because everyone who fills out the form is one less house they have to send someone to to take the information in person. You should be happy that they're trying to save money.

What I don't understand is that all of the questions are asking about the people that are living at your address as of April 1st, yet you're supposed to return it to them before April 1st. How accurate can that be? A certain number of people die in the US during the last week of March, don't they? And a certain number of people change residences on less than one week's notice.

General health care is good imo.
Our system here in Belgium is very good.

for example, when you go to a doctor to have yourself examined you only have to pay around 3 Euro. the other 20 something are covered by the health care program.
If you have to get a Coronary artery bypass surgery you only pay around 500 euro"s. same story, the rest is covered.

No expensive private insurance companies that cheat out when push comes to shove.

A lot of tourists from Europe are affraid when they go to America without travell insurance because if they would break their arm for example over there it would cost lots and lots of money to have it fixed.
Ive seen the movie "Sicko" its very shocking for us to see stuff like that.
Don"t get me wrong, I"ve been on a road trip in California last year and you guys have a beautiful country.
Im not a real nnalert but I do think you should be happy for the gouvermental health care program being set up right now.

they have places in your town that will help you fill it out. you can get form their too. you can also go to the 2010 census web site and they tell you where to go to get fill out..

with all due respect, i hope you still like gov health care when you standing in line for a month for a x-ray. doctors are going to stop taking gov insurace because they dont get but a fraction of what hey charge if they get paid at all. we need tort reforme which is the problem of medical law suit abuse. took the kid to the doctor and was prescibed medical pedialite. told the doctor we have insurance not medicade and would would buy it at walmart and she said she couldn't take it because she could get suide if the baby deyhraded. this is the problem with our county everyone whants the get rich the easy way.

The first census was done by people on horse back over roads that were just dirt or mud and where people lived in out of the way locations. Each census taker accounted for 750 some names. They didn't use any mail (there was no mail system like we have currently). Today they are getting the vast bulk of names by mail, yet the census takers are only expected to get 450 some names. That's with the advantage of google maps, automobiles, paved roads, etc. Some progress!

Just remember that the "Cash for Clunkers" program that rewarded crushing a working vehicle with $2000 to $4000 when a new car was purchased cost the tax payers $22,500 for each transaction (according to the government accounting office).

Government efficiency in action!
