Instead of Bad mouthing him on the internet why dont you call him. He does have a god running H without putting a lot of money into it. The problem is very few people post there names and complain about people. I think that if you are going to talk bad about a person you should at least have the guts to post your name and phone Number.

Dave, maybe he meant bad!!!!! as in that thing is a real strong runner . what do you think ? I think that is what is what he said.

I second Dave's idea! I bet that most of the people that post that kind of crap don't even know chad or the work or knowledge he will readily share. He is one hell of a guy. Good post Dave. - Corey Thompson Racine, Wisconsin.

RD, Yes, I do.

Fact is, Never, bring me a rusted solid POS and tell me to make it run with what is there, or not there.

The message here, is simple,

This would be the second time this fellow has brought me something that was resting next to the TITANIC.

The first time, we did it right, we went and got a perfect 264 long block and built a good one from scratch. AT OUR EXPENCE AND HE WAS NOT CHARGED.

Second time, he does the same thing, brings me an engine that has not run in 45 years!! I think it was sitting next to the M engine, next to the TITANIC. It was WORSE!

I had everything BUT a block, to replace.

I called a fella that had a block, I went and got it, it wasnt in the best of shape, but Ive seen worse.

Took a chance, it didnt work out. Block cracked.

All I will say is, I just bought a running 300 utility. He gets the block, and any parts needed to repair, replace what it needs. Shipped to his door.

Not much I will do after that, based on how I need good usable parts as cores. Next time go out and buy a running engine, instead od the first one for 50 bucks. and bring it to the shop of your choice, in the long run, after its all said and done, you have less hassle in it, and quicker turnaround times.

First time, shame on you, second time, shame on me, third time,,, wont happen again.

Don't have anything else to say, except the replacement stuff is in the works, and I still trip over his boat anchor engine cores as proof that when I said, I needed a good usable core, I thats what I get,,, who broke the bond first?

Been a real pleasure to do business with, and my hopes are that the new motor is as good as the first(4th season and no problems) thank you chads and all at the tractor shop for working hard and helping those who ask for it. I'd also say that Mr Thomas is right about the trash talkers with no names.

I have done performance work for years and have come across the same thing several times.

I have learned that there are people who have deep pockets and want to play with the big boys .

Problem is that they don"t have a clue on how to tune or drive what you just did for them.

So when there is a problem it is always the fault of the guy who did the work.

I will "now" only do performance work for people i know can tune it correct.

Chin up Chad , we stand behind you...

chads i would like your number i have a farmall M with a 450 block,lp head and manifold. I would like to talk some busniess.

This reminds me of a story .I need to tell . I had a guy standing over my shoulder a few years back watching me work on his heatpump. He stated to me that it was easy enough to do what I was doing and he bet if he went to technical school he could do what I was. I simply replied that I believe anyone could do what ever they put their mind to and I think I could have been a doctor if I had have liked school well enough to have stayed in it . He said well you didnt have to get smart about it and stormed into the house. Everyone can find something wrong with what someone else does even when they cant do nothing but pay you for the service rendered.

Yea, that's the situation alright , I've had the same guy looking over my shoulder when working on heat pumps. I just simply slows the job a little bit and adds more time to the job. costs him a few more bucks.

Chin up Chads, it's the same old story over and over. I had a local engine builder build an engine for me. I ran the tractor myself and it ran like a bear. I sold it to a guy that played his great majic with the timing, done his own thing with the carb, and changed the hitch. I know this for a fact. Now the tractor runs real bad (as in NO GOOD)so it has to be the engine builders fault. Oh give me a break, fact is some people are so stupid they couldn't pour pi$$ out of a boot with the directions on the heel but it's always the guy who built the engine or someone was cheating. This is a sore subject with me !!!!
