CL40 -- It runs!

Probably been a year or more since I posted here about engine problems with my CL40 skidsteer. FINALLY got the engine to fire up this week, but not before dealing with a lot of frustrating problems. Still a lot to do before the tractor will be functional, but at least there is finally a little light at the end of the tunnel.

Turned out the original block was cracked internally. I found another Saab engine in Toledo so bought a "pig in a poke" to see if it would run. When I finally got all the parts swapped out and got the engine in place, I found out it had zero compression on one cylinder and a max of 50 lbs on the best cylinder. Got the intake valve unstuck on the #1 cylinder, tapped on the valves of all the others and finally got enough compression to get it fired up. Lot of work to do on it yet before I can actually use it, not the least of which is repairing a major radiator leak.
