classic green paint

We are painting a 520 and using classic green paint from
john deers it looks dull and not very shiny any ideas or
recommendations? Thanks

No pictures so I will say too cold, paint too thick, improper subsurface or primer sucking solvent inward, and not enough coats.

Probably not the paint, reducer could be to fast.

What reducer are you using and what is the temperature?

I used 16 oz of paint 3 oz of hardener from NAPA and 1 oz of thinner from NAPA. Mine turned out very good...

A paint mix cup is good for making a consistent mix...

Should have used ag green.The classic wasn't even invented until the 1980'S like on the 4440 series.

The problem is not the paint. I would guess it's the applicator.
In order to avoid runs you are probably using too light of coats (misting). You need to apply heavy enough just short of running.
Also you should use Deere thinner. Too fast can also cause dullness.

As has been said many times, Classic Green was never a factory-used paint. It was created to mimic an older paint job. In other words, it was created to sell more paint. It was NEVER used on a tractor from the factory. Mike

What did you mix with the paint and how much?? Also what is your temp and the temp of the metal? Still cold here in Connecticut! If all that is a go you maybe are not putting on enough paint maybe its the gun? Also you may not have a good primer base! Also Jd paint is not the greatest paint to use Chris

The reducers are coded for temperature, I always move down one number, will dry a little slower and put on a nicer finish.
