Hi all. I have this little Cletrac HG 42, it was my neighbors (the one that passed away)
We have been doing a bunch of firewood logging, and I thought that this little cat would be GREAT for skidding trees!
It has a 4cyl Hercules, flat head in it. It is free, and it really doesn't seem like it would take that much to get it running.
I have been looking around online, and I discovered that there are three different engines, depending on the year, and I was wondering if there was a way to figure out the year of the cat?
I read somewhere ( Tractor Data I think )that for a little while, like the early years, there was a number engraved on the bell housing, but I haven't found one.
It said that the late ones had a plate on one of the frame rails, however this one had a home made loader on it, and at one point he picked up to much and snapped the entire machine in half... It has been fixed, but there is no plate!!
Anyway, I would really like to see the ole girl run again, and am just trying to get started on it! Bryce
