Clocks or no clocks?

Once a year at my physical I get to draw the face of a clock and put the hands at the time they tell me to, ain't getting old great!

I told my doctor that was an easy test for a baby boomer. You should give that same test to this younger generation.

One year when daylight savings time started, a number of us were together and started talking about changing the clocks. One gal commented that her daughter and son-in-law had only one clock in their entire house. I made the comment, "That would explain why they're never on time for anything!". It got a few smiles, but I don't think the lady was too impressed.

I have to admit I often am, but I am also sitting in a truck on a pier doing "paperwork" so I do not need to go back to the office and do it at my desk.

An elderly collector here had over 300 clocks and watches,and over 300 old radios in his house.While the man was in the hospital we had a driving rainstorm one night,and dad thought we should go see if we could find the roof leak nobody could seem to find.Big house out in the woods,power out,and the lightning was like a strobe light.We thought it was kind of spooky hearing all those clocks ticking away,until I walked into his wifes doll collection room.Dozen or so clocks in there with the hundred or so dolls,lightning lighting up the dolls,they looked like they were moving.He had a professional clock winder come in every two weeks to wind and set the clocks and watches.Not to get them set accurately,but to just keep them exercised.A couple of times a year the winder would leave a list of the ones that needed to be cleaned and properly oiled.

I think we have 6 in the house other than our phones. One doesn't work and maybe 2 are actually set to the proper time. I go by the clock on my phone. Haven't worn a watch in over 20 years. I was watching the British series "The Repair Shop". Man are the British obsessed with clocks! I think almost every episode had a clock in for repair. And dolls/stuffed animals!

Somehow this reminds me of the Youth Pastor I used to help. While he was speaking one night, he got upset because the youths were looking at their cell phones. A few minutes later he pulled his cell phone out of his pocket to check the time!
I told him after he finished that he needed to get a watch.
