That depends on which CCs you are talking about.

The MTD CCs are pretty much throw away tractors, and not good for much more than mowing grass.

The older IH CCs are a LOT better. They are good, stout tractors, that will do a lot of work, and about as common as fleas on a stray dog. Easy to find, easy to work on, and easy to find parts.

Personally, I like the pre Troy Built/MTD Bolens tractors. Especially the tube frames.

I think you guys are giving MTD a bad reputation.I bought a 12.5 with the brigsIC engine in 1993 and apart from being underpowered cut all our grass until last year when we traded it for a new 23 hp cubcudet which I love.The old one run good just the spindles the run the blades needed bearings.and almost no repairs other than a tire and battery.
