I am STILL thinking about purchasing an Cockshutt 1850 that i asked you all for some input about last week. Thank you! However one last question... What would be a fair price... they are asking for 5000. I was gonna offer 4500. what's everyones thoughts??? And anymore info about the cockshutt will be great! thanks again!!

Cant remember what it all had or the shape you stated, but if it is a good running 1850, it's worth it. That is ussually what an Oliver 1850 sell for, if not more. If it had MFWA, you should be shutting of the PC NOW and call the guy and say its sold , here I come!

I have seen them $3-6000 you would have to base it on condition. cockshutt version might bring a little more than oliver.

I didn't read your post last week about it. If it's a diesel and has good rubber you can't go wrong at that price. I gave 5600 for my Oliver ten years or so ago. Love that tractor. Use it for everything the way the Deere guys use their 4020s.

I always think of a rediculas price and start there, you can alway go up but its darn hard to come back down. then I'm an Old Horse trader so haggling over the price is just natural to me.
Don't worry about insulting the guy if he wants to sell it you will come to a number that both of you agree on sooner or later.
I know some people get all put out if you offer to little but hey that's the way you haggle.

I agree with these other guys, sounds like a fair price if it is in decent shape. Seems like you said it had a diesel in it. They are handy machines..
