Cole Fertilizer Distributor

I have a Cole Fertilizer Distributor that came off an IH-140 tractor I bought. I sold the tractor but the buyer did not want the distributer so I removed and negotiated on price. It is sitting in my barn and I don"t think I will ever have a use for it.

I am looking for manuals and/or other information. I did trace the Cole line of products to Powell Manufacturing in SC, but it looks like they have no information on this unit.

I am wanting to sell this and wondering about value. I think $500.00 might be in order as I have seen other distributors go for that. This unit is in extremely good shape, the hopper is like new with a lid and it is complete. There is some paint off at the bottom of the metal shield as is usual when that corrosive fertilizer stuff is used.

Anyone have any manuals or other information?

Thanks.

Thanks. I did look at the web site and I even made a telephone call. But the nice person I talked to did not have a clue what I was asking about. She kept referring me to their web site, which has no info about the fertilizer unit.

I'll keep looking. Or just post it for sale and some knowledgable buyer will want it. This unit is in much better shape than the IH units I have.

We used to used the Super As with the IH unit when I was a kid growing up and raising tobacco. And I have two of the 101 units in the barn also. But I no longer garden big enough to use these. Maybe when I can retire

Powell Mfg. went out of business a few years back. covington now has the designs. Look up Covington planter and you should be able to find them on the web. I believe they're in the Carolina's

There is no link on the Cole site, but here it is:

They should have the manual if they will look. The last price on a new one with the brackets was close to $1000.00. Way too much for a one row garden unit, but maybe a tobacco farmer could justify it.

(quoted from post at 00:29:30 01/11/10) Dwhitt03- You wouldn't happen to have any Cole planter units for sale, would you? Email is open

I have three old Cole horse drawn planters. Two are duplex and the other is single. One of the duplex has a cobbled up three point hitch on it. They are old but appear to be in working condition. They have many plates and the gears to operate them. I have no idea of what they are worth. You can contact me at my email link below
