Anybody have a phone number or source for on-line manuals for Coleman 5000 Watt generators(Hooked to a Briggs. How does it come off? Thanks in advance. J.

I just may have one. I have to go out tonight but when I get back I'll look in my file draw. If I can find it I will scan what you need. E-maile me and I'll get back to ya.

All the ones I've worked on had a long bolt(8"-10") coming in from the rotor side,Look at the bush end of the rotor in the center, the motor shaft was tapered

after you have the long bolt out and the stator off the unit, gently whack the rotor laminations with heavy rubber hammer from the side

without support from the end bearing the rotor generally pops right off, harder whacks or bigger hammer sometimes required

however, these units usually work or they don't, recycling bin appears to be in your future

Loosen the bolt three turns then rap the end of the bolt with a hammer.
Odds are however it's going to cost more to repair the Coleman than what it's worth.

The Rotor Is on a Tapered shaft on the engine with a bolt through the rotor. DONOT Tap the side of rotor . Just loosen bolt about three turns the tap bolt on end with a sharp tap should come lose if it dont use WD40 and try later. You might have to FLASH the fields after having apart I did on one of mine.
