color change

Something dawned on me last night that I just hadn't been all that curious about before for some reason. I can remember seeing Fergusons with dark green sheet metal. What years and models were the green ones? I always thought they looked pretty sharp. Got to thinking about it after I saw an older MF 35 sitting along the road for sale. Wonder if the correct police would have me arrested if I was to paint one that dark green?

You got it part right. I have a 1955 TO35 that had a green chassis and the sheet metal was beige. Like so many at the time, it was repainted silver on the chassis and red on the sheet metal. Someday I'll bring it back to original.

Go to this site and then click on "Paint Schemes" which will give you the correct colors for each part of the TO-35, depending upon the year. Also, you can find paint manufacturer color numbers on the site.

OK,thanks. I knew there was some green in there somewhere. From the picture above,I'd think that little 35 I saw would look pretty darned sharp painted that way.

If its your money and your tractor then you can paint it any color that suits you. I have one that is a dark red which appears to be the original factory color and it is not primer as I have been told many times. I have seen them Pink, Purple,Yellow, and Polka Dot. I also have a grey one. I also have a Pony that was originally grey and then painted red.

When I bought my TO 30, about 10 years ago, is had been painted like a "Red Belly" 8N. I have not repainted it and it still fools a lot of people when they see it.

Rich, I never heard of any of the 1955s being painted Beige. I know there were grey sheet metal and green cast parts.

I got my TO 30 19 yrs ago and it was painted red hood and fenders with a silver body. This next year I hope to return it to gray.
