Since some folks think it's a Deere, could it be a Holt? Didn't Deere buy out the Holt combine?

It's in worse shape than this one. Granddad sold or gave away the grain tank and engine over 50 years ago and I took the front wheel assembly off to make a towbar for a pickup.

No, Deere didn't buy out the Holt/Caterpillar combines, Caterpillar virtually gave Deere its combine business, as Cat saw that their future lay in industrial equipment. Since they were doing another deal with Deere at the same time, Cat felt that turning the combines over to Deere was an easy way for them to exit the business while putting it in the hands of an ag-machinery producer. Both companies felt it was a good deal for both them and the farmer.

Whatever it is, I'm reasonably certain that it's not a Deere--it appears that the tailings elevator empties into a re-thresher of some kind, and no Deere combine I've ever seen had the cleaning fan (if that's what it is) on top of the separator body. And, as others have said, I don't think Deere ever made a fore-truck with more than one wheel, and I don't believe Holt/Caterpillar did either.
