Combining oats and barley and baling

Spent the weekend combining my oats and
barley and baling straw. Combining went
well with the only problem being a loose
wire on the ignition gave some trouble.
Crops were not great, averaged a out 50
bu/acre.

Baling went well til the last load, the shear pin or the needles broke which caused one needle to get broke. So I had to weld that and missed a few bales til I got it adjusted right. But otherwise things went well. Got just about 600 bales in the barn.

Next project will be chopping corn if I decide to do that, some of my corn got stunted from wet earlier this year and I may chop that rather than combine it.

Here is a short video of baling.

When do you sew the barley? The farm around our hose had barley. They combine it in June and then sew beans in the field. The barley is used for hog feed.
