Comment on PB Blaster and radiator plug

I've been trying to get the drain plug (a 3/8" pipe plug) removed from the radiator for my WC. I have the radiator removed from the tractor. I've been giving it a couple of shots of PB Blaster every day for a week now and tapping on it with a hammer. It has not budged! I know a lot of you guys say that PB Blaster works great, but I am not impressed with it! I still thinks Kroil works better, but it couldn't get the plug loosened either. If I can get the plug out, I am going to see if I can get the radiator recored.

I was working on an old one wheel tiller, today, I was using up spray cans that I bought a bushel full, at an auction. Found a can of Nuts off, penetrating oil, never heard of it before or since, sprayed a frozen belt idler pulley , without really having any hopes of success. Grabbed the idler, and gave her a twist, and it moved, after brief resistance! Don't know if it was the product, or just wasn't very frozen, But I do know I am gonna take the can with me, to the auto parts store, and ask the girl behind the counter to get me nuts off!

You got to get it real hot and then spray the PB on it, the heat will suck it into the threads. never had it fail me yet! It's the heat not the penetrating oil that is the secret, you can use any one.,

Maybe an Impact wrench would Jar it loose..

Or, Heat the outside area and COOL the Plug (Maybe Freeze the wrench), then GO for it..

Ron..

One of the guys on this forum recommended a 50/50 ATF/Acetone Mix when I was unfreezing the various workings of a Potato planter. Combined with heat on some joints it worked like a charm. The whole thing is moving slick now.
