Trying to put together a set of commom sized tools for my tractor. I have many metric wrenchs and few standard. Did they come with any standard tools when sold and what are the best sizes to aquire. Thanks

Harry insisted on a very basic tool set.

1-1/16" covers wheels, axels, underside, and any other "big-bolts" oil fill, Pump drain plug.

15/16" for the front axel horizontal bolts.

11/16" covers just about everything else (Oil sump bolts, Flanges, trany, axels, steering, PTO pump. PTO shaft, seat etc)

1/2" and 9/16" for motor (manifold, valve cover etc)

And I believe 7/16" for the back of the dash.

That would just about do it all.

A good socket set and wrenches is all you'll need.

A old timer told me the only thing these old tractors knew about Metrics was the bomb they dropped on Heroshiema.
get a set of stubby SAE wrenches I found they work best in the tight spots.

I thought so,.... what threw me was the last tractor I worked on that was not the case. Probally some replacement bolts as it had a bumper on it.
