Competative 400 Farmall Project

Hey all, can a 400 Farmall be competative in a Div II type category with the 281 overbore kit and M+W high comp pistons? I wanted to go bigger this year but I don't think I'm gonna get that done with a new baby on the way! I dynoed this setup at a strong 60hp and I would like to run a set of 16.9x34 deep treads I have with stamped rears and stamped fronts and maybe with the pto out. I have a set of 15.5x38s and a set of 18.4x34 I can try also.

So will it work? I'm also open to any ideas/opinions you might be willing to share! Thanks! DK

I pull a 55' 400 in DIV II. The local guys wish I would leave it home. We took it to the Harrisburg super pull to test it against stiffer competition. Took 4th in the 7500 3mph class with half tread 15.5 x 38s. This year if I go, I am going to use 16.9s. Long and short of it use a better engine kit as stated in the other replies, you will be competitive.

The pic shows her stripped for the 6250 4mph jackpot class. I still finished in the top half against some really biult tractors!
