Connecting rod bolt lock washers

I am rebuilding a T030 and have over-used, 8-up lock washers. I need eight new ones. They are thin, have at least two tabs, one to pein up against the rod bolt and the other to pein down against the rod, holding the bolt head captive.
Does anyone know where to find some of these? I have tried all of the old-timer auto parts houses in Durant, Oklahoma and no go. I tried a couple of on-line tractor parts places - not there either. Help

Steve, I had the same problem I was told to use Locktite, just 1 drop on each bolt. I haven't gotten mine together yet but my thinking is am I going to have enough time to get them all torqued down properly before it sets up? The Auto shop said since it is a low rev motor I wouldn't have any problem using it. Now let's see what the others have to say as I am very interested also. I would feel better with the locks you described. Richard

Did you check with a local junk yard - a lot of old autos used that type lock and they may work (even though they may not be quite the same size). They might cost a little more than seems fair if the yard won't let you pull them but the comfort factor would be worth it. Of course, you could make your own with some soft steel sheet like you find in an old transformer or a fruit cake tin or the like.

Steve,Im doing up a tea 20 got all I need from Bareco here in australia including the conrod lock washers you want,I think Bareco are in the U.S also, maybe you will be lucky.

My automotive machine shop guy told me to use lockwashers, so I did. I couldn't locate the correct ones either. Hope they work ok.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Caterpillar parts in these parts doesn't know WHAT I'm talking about, tried our local purveyor of parts, same story: however, he did say that a Chevy 350 manifold gasket uses a tab, so I might be able to cut out the hole, tab, and make another tab. Voila! Hope it works.
