Continental F162 distributor ?

My AC 706 forklift has a Continental F162 engine in it. I went to start it today and the engine has no spark. I found that the distributor shaft was not turning when trying to start it. I tried turning it by hand and it would not turn. It seemed to be in gear with cam or crank - I not sure which runs it? Anyone on this site know why its not turning? Thanks.

Check to see if the clamp that holds the dist. down is in fact there and make sure it hasn't just popped up due to the missing clamp. If that's not the case, remove the hold down clamp, and pull the distributor, check to see if anything is sheared between the drive gear and the rotor. If that's not the cause, look down the hole as you bump the starter, to see if the gear moves as it cranks. Could be as minor as a 10 cent pin or as major as a broken or wore out cam.
