coolant from manifold std hole

Recently posted here in regards to an 8n that would only run "smoothly" when choke was partially engaged. I followed someone's suggestion of spraying starting fluid around the perimeter of the manifold, and it appears I have a vacuum leak. So I pull the forward most stud from the manifold and get a steady trickle of coolant (a torrent if I open the radiator cap) I drained the radiator, but am wondering if this is supposed to occur? My service manual is in storage pending moving back to "the place", so I'm not sure if this is an issue now. If this is expected, did I just put a bunch of coolant thru a valve into a cylinder? This seemed fairly straight forward...guess I was wrong!

Tom the studs for the head and manifold are holes through to the water jacket. Coolant leaking out would be normal. You need a high temperature sealant and put the stud back in, no problem. You did not put coolant into the cylinder, it just ran out of the hole. Seal it up and no problems.
