Counter weight options for loader tractor

What’s some counter weight options for my loader tractor? I’ve got an IH 464 with a loader, it has rear wheel weights, the rear tires are not loaded and I don’t plan on loading them. I can’t hardly pick anything up without the back tires spinning out.

You can have your cake and eat it too. When not needed for weight, it's available to carry chainsaws and accessories, tow a trailer, or anything else you need out in the field.

55 gallon barrel full of concrete weights about 1100 pounds. filled with water the barrel is about 500 pounds. Filled with gravel or rocks the weight will be between water and concrete, depending on the size of the rocks or gravel.

I made rack for my 3 point that holds a barrel. I use it for weed spray, counter weight, etc.

For me personally, I do not need a barrel full of concrete sitting around. I prefer to fill the barrel with water or rocks, depending on what I need to do.

Just some options
If you desired even more weight you could run water in with the rocks.

I’ve got a chance at buying an international 584 diesel, would this be a better fit for my loader that’s on my 464?

fill with RV antifreeze and let gravity fill them about 55 gal per tire will fill them have done many plus 55 gal barrel full of sand on the rear end

Get a couple more rear wheel weights on each side. Plus I don’t get what you’re talking about calcium rusting the rims. It’s in a tube , I changed out some rear tires in a 444 Massey that had calcium in the tubes. The rims were in great shape. It’s neglect on the valve stems that cause rust. Plus it amazes me with a loader on these small tractors plus lower the air pres in those rear tires to 10-12 lbs.

That's a BIG bucket on a relatively light (5000 lbs ) 50 HP tractor, and it's WAY out ahead of the front wheels. What are you trying to lift with it?

It is not only neglect on the valve stems, it is a lot of work to keep adding the air to the tire every few days so that the rust has the oxygen that it needs to keep working.

Yeah, then it is time to patch the tube and cleanup the rim. It will be good for another twenty years or until the next leak.
