Couple pics from Connecticut

Took these this morning out on my morning coffee run.

Both are just Gentlemen's farms today, heck long as I can remember.

This one is from one of the higher elevations in town -- when the snow isn't on the ground it's a premium hayfield.

High spots had the light & drifting snow, but just a hundred feet or so lower elevation and the stuff was absolute glue to the trees -- you can see the white / brown line on the hills.

Thank goodness the forecast was off -- supposed to be 12", got about 5" total. Storm came in later but then moved faster then expected.

We're sittin' at about 18 her in mid-coast Maine, with about 8-9" of new powder and still buildin'.

That kind of looks like a hayfield that is over here in Ashford on my friends farm.I think we might have a better view though.I have to start posting pictures one of these days.Nice pictures.Hope all is well in Brooklyn.

It would be tough to find more perfect conditions for plowing -- already had some storms so the roads had a good amount of salt already, had January thaw last week that warmed up the ground (anyone plowing a gravel driveway would've been cursing today), and the storm was "warm" -- just about the freezing mark.

Looks like Hampton had mechanical difficulties -- they only have 2 or 3 town trucks, and I found a few roads they hadn't touched yet. That's real unusual in my area to find a paved road like the above a couple hours after the snow stopped.

Pretty shots but somehow just looking at them threw my back out again. Probably 'cause I just finished shoveling out down here in Voluntown.

Yep. just gopt back in frommy first outing of the day. We've got two trucks doing about seventy miles of town road so they get around every couple hours. They're doing alright but we've got a good bit of wind with this one and they can't keep up with the areas that tend to drift in.
