This is one of the ways you know the thread is new and not from eons ago, it pops up with ZERO!! replies. I don’t have any crops, well I could tell you how the crops are doing on mom’s farm in KS but they are about 500 miles away.

These are not mine
Just a drive through the county today

Looks dry there.

We have been in endless rains since May. Actually light showers every 2-3 days, the corn and beans look awesome from the road, but if you look in the field the corn did not pollinate perfectly. And the beans got a lot of kraut but the pods I see too many 2-bean pods that I’m worried what the actual yield will end up.

Also seems a lot of fungus type stuff going on from the rains and super high humidity.

And been impossible to get the hay and few small grains made.

But need to count my blessings, as the crops look great from the road, so should at least be pretty good all in all.

Corn looks great and beans just so so. Corn will be a good crop I believe.Beans never seem to be very good anymore. Not sure what the issue is and when I talk to the Local seed and fert reps nobody replies nor comes around so we can solve it. I think it's time to look at different people . I know one is not going to see any sales to me this year.

For south-central Kansas the corn and beans are great this year due to all the moisture we've had. In our area north of Wichita a ways a guy has been keeping track of rainfall and said that since May 1 we've had just over 30 inches of rain. Note that our average annual rainfall here is only around 35 inches. Lots of corn and beans around here - almost looks like driving through Illinois in places. Wheat has really fallen off as the go-to cash crop here over the last few years. When the weather patterns change and we start getting our usual hot and dry summers that might revert back, though.

West Central Missouri is so so. Very pocket sized. North to i70, different story. We were wet past wet harvest, most wheat beans didn't come up. Then turned dry and hot, got most hay done. Had .9" last weekend over a few days, an hour north east at Sedalia, Mo State Fair, they got almost 2" in the same storms. Corn plants have "fired" back from sending their last moisture to help finish kernels.
Beans are big and little, depending on where the moisture came or then drained away.
Neighbors 20" center rows , Pioneer corn, I could see tile lines till after July 7. That wet. It has crazy top syndrome from the wet. I'll try to add pictures tonight. GG Wes

Going to be interesting to see if the rains continue into fall
Been several years since we have had fall flooding down this way but definitely are set up for a big one with all the water sheds brimming full
