Cub cadet 106 vs 147

yes man

New User
I have a cub cadet 147 with a bad engine (kohler 12hp). A friend of a friend has a Cub cadet 106 which he wants to get rid of. Will a 106 engine (I don't know the HP) fit into a 147?
Thanks for your help!

Yes all the physical mounting features of those two engines are the same. Only thing you will have to change is the drive flange on the flywheel side of the engine which is no problem. 106 has a three finger driver and the 147 has a slotted drive hub, just take the 4 1/4inch bolts out of each of these and swap to the opposite engines. You will be essentially creating a 107 which is what I happen to mow my yard with. Good tractors.
