cub cadet 2135

Tractor starts and runs fine, but when I pull the switch to engage mower nothing happens? With the engine off and key on, I pulled the switch and hear no click. Is there something else to check?

Thanks

I'm guessing this has an electric PTO clutch, key on/engine off turn the PTO on and see if clutch is getting power. Power w no PTO= bad clutch, No power= bad switch, wiring or safety interlock switch (if it has one)

It does have an electric clutch. I will take a volt meter with me tomorrow and check for voltage at the connection to the clutch? It has acted up a couple of times in the past , like you may need to pull the switch on and off to get it to work, but nothing tonight. Is there any rebuilding the clutch or just buy new? Any Idea on cost?

Thanks

Be aware, I just repaired a cadet i believe a 2185. The clutch coil has power to it all the time. Then it is grounded thru the control switch. My nephews clutch shorted out and blew the fuse. when he replaced fuse it tried to work and did not blow fuse but did destroy the switch. so took a clutch and a switch. I am not sure if that is how yours functions but just be aware of possibilities. He found a wire diagram on line. we spent 230 online for complete clutch. found a coil for 175 including shipping but what about bearings? so replaced entire unit. Was a slightly different coil set up but was easy to accomodate.
